The installation whiff of uncertainty (skimming through denazification questionnaires) addresses an ongoing investigation into the denazification questionnaires of 1946, which formed the basis for the tribunals (Spruchkammerverfahren) in the Western Allied occupation zones.
Visitors can view the objects from all sides as they walk through the installation. Positioned in front of a section of the questionnaire lying on the floor, the objects are arranged in a circular formation, alluding to the processes of research, information extraction, and personal source documentation. Stances, ruptures, and contradictions are reflected in the materiality as well as in the deliberate enlargement or reduction of objects and the selective representation of details.
